The Gold 10, like all the Crescent Moon snowshoes is a tear drop shaped frame that gives you greater maneuverability than traditionally shaped shoes without sacrificing the flotation. The Gold 10, also known as the "Backcountry" model has two additional sets of stainless steel traversing claws providing a grip that is particularly noticeable on steep traverses across the fall line or on long descents. In fact, this year's model has a more aggressive traction system than last year's including a heel claw that's nearly twice as large. Crescent Moon was the first snowshoe manufacturer to design a women's specific model and series of shoes to accommodate the differences of a woman's stride. The Gold 13 features a frame which has been bent with a very steep nose and tapered tail to allow the shoes to pass by each other without changing the way you normally walk. The Gold 15, built for women and their gear weighing up to 200lbs, is uniquely designed for backcountry conditions.
